Come visit your friendly, progressive neighborhood church in Falcon Heights

Garden Community Church was formed via the merger of Falcon Heights Church, United Church of Christ and New Life Presbyterian Church (PCUSA). We are the only church in Falcon Heights, Minnesota.

We’re centrally located in a quiet neighborhood just north of Larpenteur Avenue and between Snelling and Hamline avenues, convenient to Roseville, Lauderdale, the Como neighborhood of St. Paul and the University of Minnesota St. Paul campus.

You’ll find free parking in our lot on Garden Avenue and Holton Street, and on surrounding city streets. We’re also accessible by bike and within walking distance of Metro Transit bus lines. Our building is handicap-accessible.

Please note – the Post Office has changed our official address to 1440 Garden Avenue, but we are still in the same building and location as before when we had the address of 1795 Holton Street, back when that building was known as Falcon Heights Church.

Co-Pastor

partner & parent | pastor |  spiritual director  |  activist  |  writer

I lead worship planning and coordinate with others to nurture a community of prayer, working with Riz as we tend people’s spiritual life through their ups and downs. Seeing people flourish gives me joy!

I love singing, hiking, cycling, camping, and doing a little urban farming with my partner, Linda, on our corner lot in Como Park with four chickens, bees, garden and fruit trees, and hanging out with our three adult children when they stop over to visit our three cats.

Director of Music

husband and parent | collaborator | educator | musician | intellectually curious

I lead the music program at Garden Community Church, drawing from my experiences working in churches across the Midwest and from my many years working in the field of music education. My hope is to create shared, comfortable spaces for people to join in fellowship with one another, to pray and share with friends, and to make music with one another, regardless of past experiences, for the purpose of sharing God’s light and love for all into our congregation and the world beyond our doors. I enjoy music of all kinds, but I especially like being able to celebrate new compositions by living composers. I love hiking and camping, flying single engine airplanes as a private pilot, playing the piano, trumpet, and organ, and riding roller coasters with my family.
